Ali Kenney, previously SVP of strategy & insights, has been promoted to chief strategy officer at Burton Snowboards, a new position within the company. Kenney will lead key work around brand purpose, corporate strategy, consumer centricity, sustainability, equity/diversity/equality/inclusion and prioritization of key growth opportunities.
Her defining moment early in her career was in 2011 when she pitched the company’s sustainability platform to Burton’s owner, Donna Carpenter. Together, Kenney and Carpenter led the transformation of Burton into a global sustainability leader in just a few short years. Since the inception of Burton’s sustainability efforts, Kenney and her team have made large strides in the company’s environmental and social impact, including becoming the first snowboard company to earn B Corp certification in 2019.
Kenney leads various teams at Burton for global strategy, customer insights, environmental & social impact, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. She aims to steer the company toward consumer centricity through insights and research, achieving positive climate status by 2025, deepening Burton’s commitment to fair labor practices, and integrating justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts into all facets of Burton’s business.
