Burton Snowboards has promoted Elysa Walk, previously senior vice president for the Americas & International, to be the company’s first ”chief business officer.” In her new role, Walk will oversee the company’s direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels, regional marketing, finance and operations on a global basis. She will work with Burton’s regional teams in the Americas, Europe, Japan and Australia to develop each region’s digital and retail capabilities. She will also work with the regions to improve the retail experience, both in Burton’s own stores and with wholesale partners. Walk has been with Burton for more than five years, including three as general manager for the Americas. She previously ran Giant Bicycle’s U.S. business for 11 years. She has also been a board member of Snowsports Industries of America.
