OutDoor 2025, scheduled for May 19-21, has been paused by Messe München (MMG) and the European Outdoor Group (EOG).
The decision was made after targets of a 20 percent increase in exhibitors and visitors and cost savings were not achieved. This was announced by Exhibition Director Lena Haushofer and Christian Schneidermeier, Director of the EOG, in an exclusive interview with our sister publication Outdoor Industry Compass.
Instead, outdoor companies will be offered space at ISPO Munich 2025. On that date in May, the EOG plans to launch a new sustainability conference. Exhibition Director Lena Haushofer and new EOG Director Christian Schneidermeier announced that they are “going back to the drawing board” to develop a new OutDoor concept for 2026.
The pause reflects broader challenges in the outdoor industry, including changing market conditions and evolving business needs. Schneidermeier highlighted concerns about industry “selfishness” and the “need for better collaboration among market participants.” Haushofer and Schneidermeier emphasize that while the industry faces challenges, the outdoor market remains promising for the long term.
